I’m obsessed with Christmas. I adore pastry.
Which means that the Mince Pie embodies two of my very favourite things. I begin scanning the trade magazines in the summer of each year, eagerly anticipating the first glimpses of the supermarket ranges for the coming festive season, and, with strategic storage, freezing and preservation, will often keep a supply running well into the following year. And, with various mincemeats available year round, I’ll make my own too.
And they’re delicious with morning coffee, afternoon tea, warmed as a dessert… yum.
